Monkey menace back in Delhi, 25 people injured

NEW DELHI: Monkey menace is back in Delhi. On Sunday, a monkey attacked residents of Shastri Nagar. Twenty-five people were injured.
Residents said the monkey was on the prowl since evening and continued attacking people till late night. Four children and a woman were seriously injured. Eyewitnesses say the monkey also tried to carry away small children.
Sunday's incident comes less than a month after the Deputy Mayor of Delhi died from a monkey attack.
A woman was battling for life in a city hospital on Monday after a monkey attacked.
Farzana was attacked last night in the slums of Shastri Park area when she was fast asleep and was admitted to the LNJP Hospital in Central Delhi where her condition was stated to be serious.
About 25 people, including a number of children, were injured in the simian attack and many of them had injuries on their hands.
Those suffered minor injuries were administered first aid at a nearby hospital.
Local said that the monkey menace prevailed in the area for some time. They claimed that they had complained the MCD officials about the menace but no monkey-cathchers were sent to the locality.
